Adding EXIF to images

One of the things I like to add to my images when I publish them online is to add the EXIF data to the images. Hopefully it helps other people when they see images they like and want to see the settings – I know I’ve benefited from that myself in the past.

One of the reasons I decided to go with WordPress was the fact that it automatically extracts the EXIF data for each image uploaded into the media library and stores it in the blog database. The problem I then came across was how to get the data out and add it to my images.

I had a look at a few plugins but every one seemed to go the whole way and also include all the functions for lightbox/fancybox/other type of slideshow when all I wanted to do was get the EXIF data.

Then I stumbled across this great plugin at cyberward.net. After installing the plugin you can easily add the EXIF to each image with the press of a button. If you’re feeling really confident you can get in there and edit the code to tweak the formatting so it suits your needs.

If you found this useful do let me know.
