Last year, inspired by a post on one of the forums I read I had a play with infra red (IR) photography.
The principle is pretty simple: buy an IR filter (in my case the Hoya R72) and shoot away. Because the filter is so dark you have to focus and take an initial exposure reading before putting the filter on the camera and then adjust exposure one the filter is screwed on. Exposure can be a bit hit and miss so I took a quite a few pictures.
The post-processing can be a bit complex to get the right effect. Go have a read of Rob’s tutorial on Dynax Digital to see how it’s done. It takes you through the whole process from shooting to developing.
Here are my first attempts. I think I need a bit more practice but I was pretty pleased with these for starters
